How am I related and why do I do this?

Hello. My name is Krista Hayes. I am the granddaughter of Joyce Colleen Taylor and the x6 great granddaughter of Richard Lee Taylor, as well as the x5 great niece of the 12th president Zachary Taylor. I recently started looking into my family history a few months ago. It's been a hobby I picked up and have been doing on and off since June. I was curious about my family. My aunt on my father's side looked into my grandfathers family. Seeing as how she traced back a good 5 or 6 generations. I decided to look into my own family and see where I came from. So far I have gone back about 5 generations of my family through the help of ancestry. I hope these post and pictures and stories will interest you as much as they have me.
